The Huntington Library – Japanese House Restoration

Naturalwalls was honored to work with Valley Crest and Griswold Conservation Associates on the restoration of the Japanese House at The Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino, CA.

The historic nature of the building and the outstanding team that The Huntington had assembled for the project made this experience one of the highlights of our past year.

Naturalwalls was given the task of applying Natural Hydraulic Lime Plaster (NHL) and layers of dark Lime Paint to the exterior panels of the building.  This process allows the structure to “breath” and creates a rich, velvety surface.
