Naturalwalls had the pleasure of employing a traditional decorative plaster technique called “Stuc Pierre” for this exquisite update by Premier General Contractors of a historic home near the Langham Hotel in one of Pasadena’s most prestigious neighborhoods.
Stuc pierre was traditionally used in Europe to emulate the look and feel of hand carved stone moldings and ashlar block patterns. The process involves creating detailed shop drawings to specify the exact shapes and dimensions of the moldings desired and then painstakingly hand cutting plaster knives to create those profiles. The result is a little bit of Paris in Pasadena.
